The Writer's Right

Have you hugged your pug today?

After hearing about that poor pug is being tied up outside all day, I took a moment to appreciate Murphy.

Murphy was at my parents’ while I was home in the afternoon while I recovered from my migraine. I picked him up, we got in the car, and I hugged him tight. I smelled how good his fur smelled and I kissed his cheek. I told him I loved him so much, and I was lucky he was mine. And I promised to never, give him less than the respect and love he deserved. “I love you my boy, my smooshie face. Murph-Man, mommy will never stop loving you.“ He sighed in my ear, and leaned into me.

Take a minute and pull your pugs close.
