The Writer's Right

It’s the little things

I had to get up early to get into work to make up some time. (I have to take off early on Thursday for a doctor’s appointment.) I dropped Murphy off at 7, was at the dry cleaners at 7:10 and had time to spare. So I treated myself to Starbuck’s for the second week in a row.

Sitting on my desk is what I’d like to call a little piece of heaven: an iced, ventie, nonfat, raspberry latte, with an extra shot of expresso. (Sorry Daryn, you weren’t there to advise me against the extra shot, and really, I SO need the extra caffeine.)

I’m savoring every sip. It’s wonderful! And best of all, my little Starbuck’s was not on the list of those in my state to be closed. And neither is the one near work. Yes, things are good.

Hey, you have to live in the moment and savor the little things. They make life bearable sometimes. Like the little moments when the one you love pulls you close for a little kiss, or he/she calls you or texts you just to say hi. Or you get a card in the mail from a friend, just because. Or, a stranger holds the door for you and offers a warm smile. Life can be crappy, but sometimes, you have to enjoy the little things. They do make life good.

I’m off to get to work and sip my lovely coffee. Ahhhh!

P.S. I realize I’ve been quite the blogging slacker as of late. Even Jeff’s been bugging me. I will try to write more, even if it’s to bitch and moan about my coworker. LOL!
